The Kissfist Collaborative

Kissfist represents a network of interpreters in private practice.

We are deeply committed to removing communication barriers for Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, DeafBlind, and LEP individuals. By partnering directly with hiring entities, we are able to reduce the administrative fees associated with hiring interpreters while providing access to a network of professionals.

Drawing on a pool of qualified interpreters with specialized training, our network provides services across a range of settings including medical, professional, legal, academic, cultural events, and more. Our professionalism is underscored by ongoing professional development, and we enjoy active membership in several professional organizations including the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).

We also work to connect interpreters to one another and regularly pursue training opportunities to grow in our shared understanding of Deaf space, enhance our understanding of interpreting best practices, and improve our skills in a range specialties. Our shared goal is that people are heard and understood, and we often accomplish this goal through open process (or transparent) interpreting.

Meet The Director

As the director, Tina Hudzinski Gatchell is an interpreter with over two decades of experience in the field. Tina holds certifications in both interpretation (CI) and transliteration (CT) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, and she is committed to providing communication access for Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, DeafBlind, and LEP individuals.

In addition to her interpreting work, Tina has experience as an administrator handling legal compliance, financial management, accounts receivable, and contract writing. She has also worked as a language and cultural liaison in both Ecuador and the United States. Now with over 150 hours of specialized training in interpreting in medical settings, Tina is passionate about reducing equity gaps in healthcare communication.

Tina has lived, worked, and volunteered both nationally and internationally giving her a truly global perspective. When she’s not interpreting, Tina enjoys studying world languages and cultures. She is passionate about exploring the nuances of cross-cultural communication and building mutual understanding across diverse backgrounds. She also loves both the beach and the mountains, and she splits her time between Florida and Pennsylvania.
